The Wok Express

About

Wok Express at 31 Coombe Road, New Malden, KT3 4PX is closed on Tuesdays and holds the top food hygiene rating, 5 out of 5. It is a Chinese and Thai takeaway on the Coombe Road parade a few doors from the Korean restaurants New Malden is known for, and the number is 020 8336 2333. Kingston Council registers it as a takeaway and sandwich shop rather than a restaurant, and the 5 rating comes from an inspection on 22 February 2025 with the best possible marks in all three categories: hygiene, structure and confidence in management. The Tuesday closure is the detail worth checking before setting out, because it is the one point the sources agree on: the takeaway's own ordering page and the listing aggregators both show it shut all day Tuesday. They do not agree on the rest. The takeaway's own page shows evening opening from 5pm, while aggregator listings show 11.30am to 10pm Monday and Wednesday to Saturday and 5pm to 10pm on Sunday, so ring before you travel. Collection and delivery both run from the shop. Re-checked on 23 September 2026 and the disagreement has not been settled: the takeaway has no site of its own that publishes hours as text, and the aggregator listings still differ. The Tuesday closure is the part every source agrees on.
